Meet Caryela

Caryela has been a member of the Heart & Hand story since she was in 6th grade. She notes that involvement in Heart & Hand is a priority for her as she enters 8th grade. She says, "Heart & Hand has given me the strong foundation to be a good student and a good friend. I tell everybody I can about the program and how much it has helped me be who I am. I want to be successful, and Heart & Hand is how I’ll get there."


Meet Baz

"I've been with Heart & Hand for over 5 years, and to this day, I continue to have the opportunities to try new things that help me grow as a person. I enjoy coming to Heart and Hand because it gives my life direction and guidance. My peers and mentors helped me to achieve dreams I never thought I'd reach. Meet Teira

Teira began participating in Heart & Hand programs in 2014.  Recently, Heart & Hand connected Teira with an apprenticeship at Prodigy Coffee. Through this opportunity, Teira has learned many new job skills, gained relevant experience, and become more confident.

"I like being in Heart and Hand because everyone works really hard to help me be better and they always check on me to make sure I'm okay. They are always there for me when I need it no matter what time of day it is. I also appreciate how much they push me to meet my goals and be successful in life." - Teira

Meet DQ

DQ joined Heart & Hand programs after moving to Denver in the sixth grade. He is an intelligent young man with a big heart and a contagious smile. Since participating in Heart & Hand programs, DQ has made friends in his new school, received academic support, and participated in STEM activities including learning to use a 3D printer.
